Established 1974
It began at the bottom
of a garden.
In 1974, goldsmith and diamond mounter John Dawson established his workshop in a building at the bottom of his garden.
Restoring antique jewellery and creating pieces by hand, John built his reputation around craftsmanship, knowledge and an appreciation for beautiful things.
Two years later, Dawson opened its Stamford shop. Alongside John's jewellery appeared antique furniture, fine art, silver and an increasingly fascinating collection of objects.
That spirit of discovery remains part of Dawson today.

From creating something entirely new to breathing life back into something treasured, our jewellery services combine traditional skills with decades of experience.

Sell & Value
Sometimes it's time for a piece
to begin another story.
Jewellery is inherited, forgotten, unworn, part of an estate, or simply no longer right for its owner. We will look at it properly, explain what we see, and make an offer only when you want one.

Beyond jewellery.
Antiques have been part of Dawson's identity for decades: silver, clocks, furniture, carvings and the sort of objects that are difficult to categorise and impossible to walk past.
Burghley
A longstanding
Stamford tradition.
Dawson has exhibited at Burghley Horse Trials for decades, and has historically been involved in maintaining, cleaning, engraving and displaying winners' trophies.
